About Me

I have been a practicing therapist for over 30 years. I obtained my MSW from Columbia University and trained at the Ackerman Institute for the Family for 8 years following that. I have been trained in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Family Systems Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS).

My Philosophy

I believe that there is nothing more important to the human experience than having close and connected relationships. Our close relationships serve as a buffer when life becomes challenging, and at times, overwhelming. It has been proven that our psychological well-being and physical health improve significantly when we are involved with, and feel connected to, others.

When these relationships become strained and distant, we tend to feel alone and misunderstood- possibly even depressed. It is important to know how to manage these situations in order to continue to grow as a couple, individual, or family.

Everyone can benefit from understanding their internal struggles, as well as those of the people who matter most to them. This inherent need to be understood and accepted is of utmost importance to all of us.
