Individual Therapy

Individual adults and young adults come into therapy when they feel confused, overwhelmed, stuck, depressed, and anxious. The process of being able to talk openly and freely, while feeling safe, heard, and understood, can be therapeutic unto itself. People can express their deepest concerns and fears in a way that they are unable to do outside of a therapeutic environment.

My job is not to judge nor to push my agenda forward, rather is it to help the individual explore feelings and get to a deeper level of understanding, self-awareness, and insight. From this place, decisions can be made with confidence, leaving people less overwhelmed, unhappy, and stuck.

Couples Therapy

Couples often seek therapy when they feel distant and disconnected and are in conflict, but are unsure of how to reconnect or improve their communication. The stress of poor or unresolved communication can lead to a variety of problems including hurt, anger, withdrawal, substance abuse, and possibly even infidelity. I work to help couples open their lines of communication through understanding themselves, and their partner in a way that leads to deeper, more hones,t and authentic conversation. Being trained in EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) gives me the tools to help distant couples become closer.

In couples therapy, patterns of interactions are identified through the lens of Attachment Theory. This way of working focuses on helping couples develop strategies for listening, understanding, and responding to each other. The goal is to work towards creating a shift in emotional responses and resulting interactions.

Family Therapy

I believe that understanding the human condition from an attachment perspective is the best way to work on past and present struggles while gaining deeper insight into oneself and the relationship dynamics within a family unit.

Family history is critical for each individual to understand so that existing relationship dynamics make sense and can be shifted.

I have been trained in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and in Family Systems Therapy. Along with my training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS).
